Despite the fact that Halloween is just a few weeks away, that doesn’t imply you may’t tune into spooky season by unlocking some creepy trying masks in GTA Online.
GTA Online’s Halloween update went live last week, bringing a whole new Adversary mode called Judgement Day to Los Santos, besides the usual UFO sightings.
Rockstar Games often likes to add a layer of reality with a twist in its games by dropping limited time items around holidays like Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and of course Halloween.
This year is no different, as now you can choose to dress up and scare your online friends, by making your GTA Online character wear a variety of creepy-looking masks.
You can also wear them during heists, in a true Money Heist manner, but it’ll require a bit of effort to get your hands on them.
The Conquest mask, which kind of looks like a gold version of the Night King from Game Of Thrones, is arguably the easiest one to unlock, as you’ll only need to log in the game before Thursday, October 20 to get it.
Keep in mind that you’ll have to play the game for at least 30 minutes to unlock it, but that shouldn’t be a problem for anyone.
To get some of the more popular and recognisable masks, such as the Frankenstein and Pumpkin Head ones, you’ll have to put in a little more effort.
You should be able to unlock the brown Frankenstein mask by joining a business, either private security organisation SecuroServ or a Motorcycle Club, for example. The Pumpkin mask can be unlocked after you find 10 pumpkins around Los Santos, no need to carve them though.
Here’s how you can unlock every Halloween mask in GTA Online:
- Conquest: Log into GTA Online before Thursday, October 20
- Brown Frankenstein: Become an Associate/Bodyguard/MC Member in GTA Online
- Dark green Vintage Vampire: Complete a special Cargo Sell mission
- Pumpkin Head: Collect 10 Jack-o’-lanterns around Los Santos
The last one, Pumpkin Head, can prove to be the most difficult mask to unlock, as these Jack-O’-Lanterns are spread far and wide across the city, though it’s high effort and high reward as you’ll also get some extra cash and RP.
If you manage to find all 200 of them, you’ll get a pumpkin-themed t-shirt, and you’ll be allowed to call yourself the Pumpkin King of Los Santos – though Rockstar hasn’t officially confirmed this last part.
As we get closer and closer to Halloween, you can expect more masks to get added to GTA Online, as well as other limited-edition cosmetics. For now, better get started on this pumpkin hunt, or else you might find yourself on the on the tricking, rather than the treating end.
