MOSCOW, (Sputnik) – The Turkish Zilkan (Zelikan) navy base, situated in northern Iraq, has come underneath a rocket assault, Shafaq Information stories citing sources.
Three rockets had been fired on the base, situated about 6 miles (10km) from the village of Bashiqa in Nineveh Governorate in northern Iraq, on Saturday, a safety supply advised Shafaq.
The rockets missed their goal, in keeping with the supply. Two of the rockets fell close to the bottom, whereas the third one landed within the close by village.
No casualties had been reported.
Turkey has launched a number of air and land operations in northern Iraq in opposition to the Kurdistan Staff’ Get together (PKK), which is banned by Turkey. The Iraqi presidential workplace has acknowledged that Turkish operations undermine the nation’s nationwide safety.
